Laws Delighted With Tudgay Deal
Wednesday boss Brian Laws has been left delighted that Marcus Tudgay has agreed a new four-year deal with the Owls, and insists the club are no longer a 'selling club'.
Tudgay penned his deal earlier today to end weeks of speculation regarding the striker's future at S6.
And Laws is pleased that he can finally start planning for the Championship kick-off in just over a week's time with his star striker pledging his future to the club.
'I am absolutely delighted that Marcus has signed this new contract,' Laws told the official SWFC website.
'As I have said before, Marcus is integral to my plans here at Sheffield Wednesday, he epitomises everything about the type of player I want in my team.
'He is a key player at this club and neither myself nor the chairman are interested in selling players who are crucial to our development.
'This also sends out the message that Sheffield Wednesday is a club moving in the right direction and one that is not looking to sell its best players.'
Laws played an influential role in keeping Tudgay in the famous blue and white stripes, with last season's player-of-the-year holding 'extensive' meetings with Laws and chairman Lee Strafford about the direction of the club.
