Wednesday could be set for a £20 million investment in the club and big changes to Hillsborough stadium following Wednesdayite's annual general meeting (AGM) last night.
Owls chairman Lee Strafford was at the meeting, which showed fans plans to develop Hillsborough whether England wins the bid to host the 2018 World Cup or not.
And the presentation also indicated that the club were set for imminent investment of £20 million, with half expected to meet the costs of the ground development, and the remainder used to build the squad.
It left Wednesday fans leaving the meeting with a great sense of excitement and anticipation for what's sure to be a vital year in the club's future.
Stadium operations manager John Rutherford played a key part in the presentation, which was also shown to a delegation from England's 2018 World Cup bid recently.
The main changes included developing the West Stand to house a huge learning zone, while also filling in the corner ends at the West side of the stadium, adding extra boxes to the top of the North Stand, and building a huge building behind the North Stand to house 'one of the largest classroom in Europe'.
The aim was to make Hillsborough a focus point of the local community and to see it used on a daily basis rather than on matchdays only.
Rutherford said improvements to the ground could start as early as November, but no detailed time frame was released for the whole project.
As ever, further details surrounding any potential investment in the club are yet to be released, but the 'imminent investment' certainly seems to be a lot more certain than previous instances at S6.
