'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Owls Ladies Go Goal Crazy

Wednesday Ladies were in freescoring form as they swept aside Bradford City Ladies in their second friendly fixture of their pre-season campaign.

The Owls are preparing for their new season in scintillating fashion, proving too strong for their West Yorkshire rivals with a confidence-boosting 9-3 victory over the Bantams.

Tanya Rich was in top form in front of goal with a hat-trick as an under-strength Wednesday side showed no signs of suffering with eight first team players missing from action.

Rachel Skeemer returned to form with a brace of goals, as did Emily Scott, while Beth Gingell and Laura Windle also got on the scoresheet.

'The Owls staff are delighted how the players are really coming together to play some very high quality football,' said coach Daniel Duke.

'The strength in depth in a squad this year becomes apparent when we can have eight players missing and still go out and put on a display that anyone at Premier League level would be more than happy with.

'It really is a credit to the girls approach this year how hard the are all working through training and that is transpiring on to the pitch.

'We have games coming think and fast now in preparation for the league campaign so the strong squad is essential.'
