Owls Ladies Set For Hammers Test

Wednesday Ladies are set for one of their toughest matches of their pre-season when West Ham Ladies make the trip to Worksop this weekend.

The Owls have already enjoyed Umbro International Cup success this summer and will be looking to take the momentum into the clash with the Hammers, whore bringing two squads to Worksop for the clash on Sunday.

An Owls XI will take on West Hame 2nds at 12.30pm before before the first team clash takes place at 3pm.

Manager Daniel Duke said: "We have had some great results through pre-season but this is where it all starts.

'At the Umbro's we beat Everton, Portsmouth and Hibernian and drew with Blackburn and the squad performances were outstanding, but this is the real thing.

'This is the standard of teams we will be playing week in week out. I have a squad of 18 - 20 players that want to play in 11 positions, the competition for shirts is fantastic and we have become a complete squad.

'Pre-season training has been the best I have ever known, and all the girls want to do now is start playing competitively, there is a belief in the camp, throughout the players and staff that something special is on the horizon and this game is our marker.'
