Owls Set For Loan Capture

Wednesday boss Brian Laws has revealed that he's looking to get a loan striker into the club 'very soon' to bolster his attacking options.

Laws told BBC Radio Sheffield today that he has little cash to spend in the transfer market but is hoping of adding a new striker to his ranks in what's thought to be a six month loan deal.

The Owls boss had been happy with his current crop of strikers until Akpo Sodje picked up an injury in the club's final pre-season game against Blackburn Rovers last weekend.

Leon Clarke also went off as a precaution, and Laws doesn't want to risk being short on numbers so early in the season.

A number of names have been linked in the rumour mill, including Wolves' Andy Keogh and Arsenal youngster Jay Simpson.

Celtic and West Brom are after Jay Simpson so I'm not sure how much of a shout we have with him... I rate Keogh - he's a workhorse and is pretty creative.

Break the bank and get Clinton Morrison in, he was outstanding today.
Danigol_10_SWFC
Billy Sharp would be excellent for us, playing as a centre forward. He'd suit our style.
