Arsenal Man Leads The Rumours...

Arsenal youngster Jay Emmanuel-Thomas is leading the names linked with bolstering Wednesday's injury-hit attack with a loan move to Hillsborough.

Owls boss Brian Laws has made a striker the top of his wanted list after injuries to Akpo Sodje and Leon Clarke before the new Championship season even started.

And Emmanuel-Thomas, rated highly as a young one for the future at the Emirates Stadium, is the name leading the way.

Laws had hoped to bag his new loan signing before the Owls' clash at Peterborough United this weekend.

And it could be that an announcement will be made today or tomorrow from S6 - we have our very own Vital spy down at Middlewood Road as I type!

mick66owl
never even heard of him we must have very little money to bring someone in if laws is going for this young lad
dublin owl
Tell you now without doubt if you get J.E.T in you'll have yourselves one hell of a player. See him play many times, he is strong, tenacious, great engine, very versatile player. pretty play anywhere across the middle, can also play in the hole. He can play in defence as well, but is wasted there. He scores goals, great aerial ability as well in both boxes. One thing.......Dont get used to him as he will return to the Arsenal.... If he plays the full season for you, i reckon he'd get Player of Year.....
Harry671
You boys should be excited about this. You'll have a future international star on your hands. This kid is a bit special.
hatespur
Its about time we got something off the gooners, they still owe us for the cup double in 1993, and steve bould crocking hirsty. Hope he signs, he looks the business on youtube
greeny9
I'm like dublin owl, never heard of him. But if Arsenal rate this kid highly then he's definately worth a look at. Agree greeny9, Arsenal owe us one fit David Hirst clone.
johnnywalker69
We all know that we have no money and to suggest that is is negative to be looking at the young players that top clubs are ready to loan out in order for them to get experience is just plain daft! I have never heard of him either, but if the reports from the gooners are ot be believed, we ought ot be getting excited about this one!
dobby1
arsenal have some of the best youngsters around so i would be pleased to take a prospect off them definitely. he seems highly rated so nothing to lose really
heslip2000
Hope he picks Hillsborough when Blackwell makes an offer now he sounds promising, gotta thank Blackwell for comedy gold once again the other night though you couldnt script that 'clear out the dead wood' 4 of starting XI were his new signings 4/5 were first team lol
wesp
glad he stayed after their failure at Wembley. We need him in charge over there!
dobby1
We need a good 20+ goal striker and have done for years now. Tuggay's steady a good second man striker bagging a good few goals, Jeffers doing OK but still no signs of the super striker they used to write about, Clarke's gets a few, but lets face it, he's got to really improve. Akpo, well he would be the man if he could stay fit. I hear more reports of him down town than I do on the pitch. So much for trying to get and stay fit? Bring on the JET on loan and let him make a name for himself at Hillsboro!
MightyWednesday
it says on his arsenal profile he is a midfielder/defender type player! why do we need him, we need a goal scorer
mansfieldowl
he can play anywhere except in goal LW/CAM/ST is preferred i think arsenal fans rate him as high as Wilshere see him as simular to Adebayor but better potentially
wesp
get him in an give him a try, nawt to lose hes definatly gunna score more than jeffers!lol.
owl83
has anyone got 2 spare places for the trip to newcastle got the tickets but no coaches and train doesn't get back in sheffield til 6.20 wednesday f****d up with transport only 8 coaches laid on
we are the owls
bought this lad on FM08 once, he was pretty good. He was a left-back though so what's that all about? Ive heard of versatile but a forward/left back? Based on the Gunners' fans reviews though - snap him up, its worth a try.
Carbone's Padawan
We don't seem to do very well with young Prem strikers though do we!!!
SuperOwls
i dont want to spoil anyones party but y havent palace or qpr gone for him if hes this good.i think qpr have got a bit more money than us.
carlton owl
who's to say they won't? he's not exactly in the bag yet is he?
Carbone's Padawan
I wish we could find another Kenwynne Jones....probably the best loan signing we have had in recent years.
CLIFFANDJ
Just been away for 5 days, can't believe we still hav'ent signed anybody, i thought Brian Laws was meeting with the player and agent last sunday, oh i forgot we beat the mighty Rochdale on tuesday we dont need anybody now, so the lies still keep coming out of Hillsborough, it's no better now than before, Laws said he'd got four fit strikers for the start of the season, that was a lie then when Sodje and Clarke get injured just a week before the season starts they said they would have to get some one in, that's still not happened, it really *****ers me of to see other teams around the country are getting players in but not us, cut the lies and tell us the truth just for once and stop hanging on hoping Sodje and Clarke will be fit soon it's simply not good enough.
ecco owl
does my head in reading posts like that ecco. I know you're a regular on here and I'm a 'newbie' but slagging off your club like isn't good for anybody is it? you've got to remember we're only just turning the clubs status around at the moment. attracting players is not an easy task for a northern club in general, let alone a club that's skint and is perceived as a 'fallen giant' by many. stay positive and be thankful we've still got a club in the championship with a much brighter future than we used to have. and with regards to suggesting that lawsy and strafford lie and dont tell the truth is ridiculous. they're the most open management we've ever had.
Carbone's Padawan
here here Carbone's Padawan.....everyone is entitled to their opinion ecco owl but Jeez let's not start the doom & gloom already.
CLIFFANDJ
By the way Jeffers didn't play today he was injred in trainingon Friday.....wonder what ecco will make of that!
CLIFFANDJ
i prefer tudders n jj up there anyway.jeffers is past his best and as been for a long time the fox in the box yeah roadkill in the box thats if he gets there.
ollyowl70
We need someone after today but BL says he's happy with the overall performance well Im glad you are bri cos im not, we play a pony team like that & just hang on if he's happy then he just might not be the right man for the job just as most of the players he brought in are not up to the job bring Howard back give us a backbone again
HorburyOwl
Let me explain to you something. When under huge amount of pressure, managers sign crap players (Jeffers) or risky players (Sodje). So give the man time to decide who is good for our team even if we have to play with one striker in front.
RatherRandomOwl
Just returned from Peterborough not impressed, playoffs are a long way off, we need a striker, Johnson not good enough to play up front sort it Brian before its too late, just read laws is happy with point, well not me Sodje, Clarke and now Jeffers injured, draws against Barnsley & Peterborough are not results i want to see, if we are going to do something this season we need to be beating teams like this, and the only way is get in a goalscorer, MR Strafford you want to be chairman get your hand in your pocket and spend some money on the team for a change instead of belly.
ecco owl
ouch dont hold back ecco tell em ow it is oh u just did lol.
ollyowl70
i notice everything has gone quiet again regarding a new loan player. i bet we don't get one
stealthyowl
A bit like the investment stealthyowl.
ecco owl
ecco owl is completely right, why is he playing such a negative team week in week out,how does esajas possibly not deserve a starting spot, at least start him then pull on the defensive subs later. i honestly think the starting 11 against rochdale would paste that of the one yesterday.4 points lost already, were gonna get rolled over wednesday night there will be no competition in the centre of the park.jeffers is a complete lost cause and its a shame about sodje, but its definatley no suprise so something should have been done, instead of bringing potter in(who with 2 professional goals from midfield believes he has the right to take set pieces??????)
alcock dived
http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Blackpool-manager-Ian-Holloway-wants-Arsenal-youngster-Jay-Thomas-on-loan-article117725.html There's our competition ladies and gents... Seems we're battling it out with Blackpool for the young lad.
Carbone's Padawan
if it is him and he picks Blackpool over us i'm going to sleep for a year. According to same paper though one we're after is N'gog, its got to point now where i don't mind which one just any will do
wesp
See that Sears goal that was't given, ha ha ha ha Warnock went mental, love it!
sussexowl
I'm in a similar frame of mind wesp. I would prefer Thomas based on all the rave reviews though. I understand Holloway is pulling out all the stops to land this kid so I've got a sneaky feeling he's gonna end up on the west coast. Just hope Lawsy can pull this one out the bag. He could have the 'Fraizer Campbell - Hull City' effect we're after.
Carbone's Padawan
Night guys
wesp
He's just signed for Blackpool.
Danigol_10_SWFC
how depressing
charmer
is if we were after him, hopefully it was just sunday paper links and we were after Jay Simpson
wesp
If it was JET we were after. There's something seriously wrong. Holloway said on the BBC their budget isn't much bigger than Scunthorpe's (the team with the lowest budget in the Championship). The fact that Blackpool can attract players over us is down right depressing! We lose out on nearly every player we go for. It's just not on! I don't think we're be going for N'gog, if we can't get JET we can't get him! he'll go to Crystal Palace... We need to get rid of Jeffers to free up some of the wage budget and sign someone, anyone else!
steve_wed
Completely agree Steve. We need rid of Jeffers, he's absolute garbage. No pace, no skill, no hunger, and on a reported 9k a week?! Total joke. We could get two top premiership youngsters in on loan if we could sell him but something tells me there wouldn't be many takers...
Danigol_10_SWFC
no mate not one cos everyone knows he pony, but we need someone quick. i think we will get drubbed at the maggies sorry lads but i do sad but true
