Owls Duo To Miss Final Games

Owls duo Chris Brunt and Steve Adams will miss the final two games of the season after picking up injuries this week.

Wednesday boss Paul Sturrock announced that Brunt has been carrying an injury for the last few weeks and has been playing through the pain barrier to help the club avoid relegation.

He told the official SWFC site: Brunt has carried an injury for a few weeks and, poor laddie, will have a needle where you don't want it to go!'

Adams hs only just returned from an injury but was rushed back to aid the Owls cause in the last few games. His knee injury will keep him out for the final two games of the season.

Sturrock also revealed that Richard Wood will not feature again this season. On-loan Mikkel Bischoff is also unlikely to feature on Saturday but may make an appearance in the final game away at Derby County.

With the injuries mounting up as the season draws to the close, Sturrock may be set to give starts to Steve Maclean, Jon-Paul McGovern and Leon Best. Youngsters Sean McAllister and Tommy Spurr may also be given a chance to shine.
