Sodje Set For Scunny Return

Injury-plagued Owls striker Akpo Sodje is set to give boss Brian Laws a boost by declaring himself fit for the squad to face Scunthorpe United at Hillsborough this weekend.

The former Port Vale striker, who has suffered from injury throughout his time at S6, was expected to be sidelined for the first few months of the season after picking up an injury in the pre-season clash with Blackburn Rovers.

But Laws will include Sodje in his squad for the visit of the Iron, and although not expected to play a huge part, is likely to be in with a shout of a starting role in the next few weeks.

Sodje's return will come at a time that Laws has boosted his attacking options with the return of Derby County striker Luke Varney on loan.

Leon Clarke is also only said to be 'a few days behind' Sodje in terms of returning from injury.

Awesome. Fingers crossed he's stays fit. I do feel for the fella, it must be frustrating with the injuries he's had. He can make a real difference to the team. C'mon Akpo!!
