Varney Back For Second Spell At S6

Derby County's Luke Varney returns to Wednesday on a loan until January 1st.

Brian Laws' relief is apparent in his statement on the Owls official web site, as one of the loan successes from last season gets another chance to impress the Owls faithful.

26 year old Varney scored two in four for the Owls last time around, and his timely signing provides welcome assistance to the misfiring Wednesday attack of late.

Laws said: 'I am delighted that Luke Varney has agreed to join us on loan for the rest of the calendar year. He showed our supporters last season that he is a very capable player at this level who can create opportunities and score goals. Luke's energy and endeavour was something that really impressed me last season. He never stops running and will certainly give opposition defenders plenty to worry about in the Championship.'

Amen to that. Varney will not be available to play against the Rams, and is Carling Cup-tied, but this is great news. He'll be in contention for the Scunthorpe match.

decent player, surely we could get him permanently in jan
yep, i think he'll do a decent job for us. him and big sodje upfront is as good as any of the other strike forces in the league. JJ and esajas on the wings, theres plenty of goals in this team.
Brilliant News!!! I was starting to get concerned about the lack of anything concrete. Good to see it come through! Now we can maybe do deal with Donny for Jeffers
happy with this, much prefer him to some unknown junior from Prem
Aston Owl

heeeeeeeeeee i'll get you Butler!
Radon Barrier
Very pleased with this.... he made a big difference to us in attack when he was here last season.

Bad move, didn't play well last season and will not play any better this season. (I mean let's have some balance in the opinions, ok?)
Well did see him play last season RRO i think he did well as do most of us so your opinon is rather random mate good one BL for a change
HO think rro was jokin, well done though.
what a great premiership signing this is - BL is a joker and says what you all want him to say as does your skint micky mouse chairman. but wahey you add 4 new roofs to your run down ground that will make you feel better eh?
bfl, if we are as insignificant as you say then why do you spend so much time on here commenting on every article? I don't go on the sufc site cos to be honest I couldn't give a toss what your upto
Hirsty's Shinpads
Ah pfl, i thought you'd gone back to school. Sorry, didnt realise you lot play at wembley. BL was after a premier league striker but couldnt wait any longer for a decision.
LOL how can pfl say anything about football grounds with the state of bumhole lane its like a sunday league ground
so much of a joker that he said he's still after the premier league striker... get back to your own site and run your mouth there pfl you're not welcome here.
Carbone's Padawan
