Former Owls 'Investor' Targets Toon

Geoff Sheard, the man behind a failed bid to invest in Wednesday, has turned his interests to Championship rivals Newcastle United, according to reports today.

Sheard was behind a business consortium involved in a takeover bid of Wednesday at the start of the year, a bid which raised many questions about funding and just where the backing was coming from.

After looking like a potential saviour of the club, Sheard disappeared under dark clouds and has only raised his head in light of the takeover situation at St James' Park.

Sheard was in attendance at the Toon's 1-0 victory over Wednesday last Wednesday.

And he could be returning to Hillsborough on Boxing Day should his bid - backed to US interest according to reports - be successful - with the Newcastle officials.

If Sheard's proposed takeover of our beloved Owls was anything to go by, Newcastle fans should be expecting a long road ahead - good luck!
