'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Tick Tock, Tick Tock...

Just over an hour remains until the transfer deadline passes, and as usual, it's pretty quiet around Hillsborough at this time of the season.

The main bit of speculation at S6 is that of a possible departure of Richard Wood to Roy Keane's Ipswich Town, with reports revealing the Tractor Boys have made a bid for the centre-back.

The offer is believed to be around £800,000, although Brian Laws has already played down the rumours on local radio today.

Owls fans don't have long left to wait to see if Woody will still be an Owl, until the start of 2009 at least, but it's extremely unlikely anyone will be coming in.

Wednesday, of course, will be looking to loan signings to bolster their squad given their current finances, and chairman Lee Strafford has already revealed that players need to leave before anyone can come in.

Francis Jeffers is a possible player to leave the club, although only a fan's rumour on Sky Sports has linked him with an unlikely move to League One side Leeds United.

So it looks like more of the same until Christmas at least for Wednesday fans, which will please the majority, although it's not over until it's over.

Keep your eyes on Vital Sheffield Wednesday for all the latest transfer updates ahead of the transfer deadline.
