R.I.P. Paul Shirtliff

Sheffield Wednesday are in mourning today after former defender Paul Shirtliff lost his battle with cancer at the age of 46.

He passed away this morning and Vital Sheffield Wednesday would like to pass our condolences on to Paul's family and friends.

The brother of another Owl Peter Shirtliff, Paul was part of the Wednesday squad in the 1980's before moving on to play for Boston United, and also pulling on the shirt of Frickley Athletic, Northampton Town and Dagenham and Redbridge.

R.I.P. Paul.

Devestated , when i heard this really awful , sad news i was and still am really gutted ,devestated and sorry because he isnt with us anymore which is a real big shame , but as a friend of the shirtliff family i have to say what a really kind , caring ,loving man he was and always will be and that is why myself ,his family ,his fans and all the of his friend and everyone else Paul cared about and loved will really miss him . Paul was a real great loving ,kind caring husband to his wife Jane and a great loving ,kind caring father / dad to his son Jamie and daughter Danielle and really cared about the people around him and would proberly do anything to see them all happy , i mean i myself have such great memories of meeting him ,which was and always will be a real honour and pleasure , Paul was a very nice person to talk to and i always use to asking him if he's ok (well) . Anyway what can i say other than Paul Rest In Piece , we all miss you ,especially your wife Jane and your two children Jamie and Danielle . :( R.I.P. Paul
