Jeffers Transfer Talk Hots Up

Rumours linking Wednesday's former Arsenal and Everton striker Francis Jeffers have picked up this week, with Notts County reportedly interested in his services.

The Owls' 'fox in the box' was slapped on the transfer list and hit with a fine by boss Brian Laws after his sending-off in Wednesday's Carling Cup defeat to Port Vale.

And although Laws hasn't completely closed the door on the one-time England international, it looks like Jeffers will be heading out of Hillsborough shortly.

Links with big-spenders Notts County have surfaced recently, and they've come up again in the national press this week, with the League Two outfit keen to bolster their attacking options.

Any move would have to be an initial loan deal, with the transfer window closed, with a permanent move possible in January.

Michael Mifsud has already reportedly turned down the chance to move to Nottingham, paving the way for a possible swoop for out-of-favour Jeffers.

Most Owls fans will be keeping their fingers crossed that this is true...

Think we ought to do a BOGOF deal with him. You buy Jeffers, you get Clarke free.
MightyWednesday
Here we go with the Clarke bashing again. He has been performing much better and is just returning from injury - give the lad a break!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jeffers on the other hand can get the first available bus out of Hillsborough

Mighty, are you on drugs? Why would we want to let Leon go when he's been in some of the best form of his life and looks good post-injury? Come off the crack and start talking sense man!
US Owl
He's had enough chances. He is garbage. He came on on friday and just looked lost as he always does. Dont think he hardly got a touch. I think we did great on Friday and as a team we're really getting somewhere, but we've still got 2 or 3 weak links and he is one of them.
MightyWednesday
aye mighty you bell end get off leons back he was great last season.
ozzietheowl
Leon was great towards end of last season, and I think he just found it hard on friday with the pace of the game, but like you all said he is just on his way back from 6 weeks out
Aston Owl
Ok Ok looks like I'm on my own with that comment. Seems I'm seeing a different Leon to everyone else. Give me Varney, Tudgay and Sodge any day. Flippin eck dont get this much grief on the blunts site LOL. Might make a good quarter back though, what you think US. What if we knock 5p of every litre of petrol with the BOGOF offer?
MightyWednesday
Mighty have you managed to see the owls now that they've been on t v, if you'd seen Leon last season i don't think you'd be saying that, it's just a same we can't get rid of some braindead supporters instead!
ecco owl
How can you call hi braindead for expressing an opinion. Who do you think you are ecco just assuming that your opinion is correct.
Radon Barrier
Who wants rid of anyone anyway? I thought that we were all entitled to expres our views! If we all agree this will be a very dull place.

Ive supported Jeffers from day one of him signing for the club even with his history I feel that everyone deserves a fair chance, and who knows it could have paid off and an injury free Jeffers (could) have got back to something of his old self. We played the waiting game, gave him chance after chance even through the long string of injury which many clubs had already scrap heaped him for. Then to do what he did in the port vale match was nothing short of assault. If he had done that on the street in front of the police who were stood at the match wouldnt he have been arrested for it ? I can never understand where the difference is but hey thats another matter. For one of our players to cause an unprovoked attack on an opposition player, I really dont want him associated with out club, it is not what we stand for. Jeffers needs to leave as soon as possible and release the burden of his lucrative salary we must be paying him to sit in the reserves. Mind not that you would want hin deluding our reserves with that sort of behaviour either. Sorry Jeffers that was last chance saloon for you my friend and the sooner we sever the ties the better.

PS. I say give Leon a try, hes a bit of a hot head who I think just needs to lose the chip off his shoulder, hes still bit of a lad and needs to get priorities right. Underneath hes a good player just gotta get his head right and focus !!!
stevetheowl
im pretty sure if leon clarke knew he had a chip on his shoulder he would eat it!!!
ozzietheowl
Get rid of jeffers, keep leon, some of you have short memories leon started slow last season, he's only played 10 mins this season and he's being slated already.
