'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Chairman Calls For Owls' Support

Wednesday chairman Lee Strafford is calling on Wednesdayites to get themselves down to Hillsborough for tomorrow's Championship clash with Cardiff City.

The clash with the Bluebirds could be Wednesday's lowest attendance of the season so far - not helped by the visitors' relatively low following - and could fall a way short of the 24,300 average gate required for the current business plan drawn up.

Current ticket sales for Saturday's clash with Dave Jones's men could see the average for the season drop below the required amount for the first time this term, and Strafford is calling on Owls fans to make a late surge in ticket sales.

'At the current rate of sales we are looking at an attendance circa 19,000 for Saturday, which would bring us short of our budget average for the first time this season,' he told the official SWFC website.

'As I have been at pains to say since publishing our business plan, revenues are underpinning investment on the pitch. I just want to remind our fans that we need your support on Saturday as with any other match so please give the team your backing if you can.'

Tickets for the game, which is classed as a category B game, are still on sale both online and in person at the ticket office, while tickets are still available to purchase on the gate.
