No Takers On Simek

Owls right back Frank Simek has yet to attract the interest of any Football League clubs with regards to a loan move away from Hillsborough, according to reports.

A report in the Yorkshire Post has revealed that Simek has been offered to teams 'lower down the football league' to gain some much-needed match fitness.

But there's yet to be any takers on the Arsenal Academy product, who's suffered from a poor injury record at S6 in recent seasons.

Simek is down the pecking order at Wednesday, with Laws not wanting to throw the American into Championship action when not fully fit.

He's featured heavily in reserve team outings, but the Owls boss is wanting to give him some Football League first team action to really get him up to scratch - and ultimately give him the chance to get into the Wednesday first team.

Wednesday are likely to continue to push for Simek to make a move away from the club on a loan deal, but he may well have to settle for a place in the reserves to up his match fitness and hope boss Laws gives him the opportunity to prove himself in the first team.

robc, I totally agree, if he is playing in the reserves he cant be that unfit, surly the only way to get 'Match' fit is to play in the first team. Come on Brian, Buxton's had his chance time to give Frankie his!!

Let's be frank (pardon the pun) A half fit Simek is better than Buxton & Purse. Although i do think it is Purse making Buxton look bad, he was fine last season. Free transfer !!! Weve been had.

How can he not be match fit? He is playing just about every reserve game.....Are they not matches Brian? I still think he is a better player than Buxton, although Buxton has done a good job for us, he was just a stop-gap while Frankie was injured. Come on Brian, at least start him then if he is not up to the job then play Buxton.
