One Less Option For Owls

Wednesday boss Brian Laws will have one less selection problem on his hands for this weekend's visit of Coventry City.

It's not a welcome one, with utility man Richard Hinds almost certainly ruled out of action for the visit of the Sky Blues after failing to recover fully from a heel injury.

The former Scunthorpe United man was set to give Darren Purse and Lewis Buxton a run for their money on Saturday after Laws promised changes following the 3-0 defeat at Derby last time out.

But Laws now only has Mark Beevers as a centre-back replacement, with Frank Simek also pushing for a place in defence, but unlikely to get one following attempts to send the American out on loan to up his fitness levels.

Injury to Hinds could mean Purse gets another chance to try and prove his doubters wrong this weekend, unless Laws opts for Beevers alongside Richard Wood at the heart of the Owls defence.

The injury blow to Hinds isn't expected to be long-term, with the luckless centre-back expected to be in contention for the midweek visit of Preston North End.

I don't think it/hope this doesnt mean Purse stays in. I was thinking Hinds, Beevers, Wood, Spurr so get Frankie in

Beevers and Simek in , Purse and Buxton out. I really feel for Hinds, his injury could not of come at a more significant time. His time will come though.

got to admit ill be very very very suprised if BL drops purse-just dont see it happening-really hope so but cant see it unfortunatley-beevers is the best defender weve got yet hes on the bench-rapidly losing faith in BL!!!
