'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Former Owl Still Looking For Club

Former Wednesday defender Peter Gilbert is still looking to settle at a new club after rejecting an offer from Oldham Athletic following his departure from Hillsborough.

The left-back is a free agent after falling down the pecking order at S6 under boss Brian Laws last season and failing to agree terms for a move to Boundary Park earlier in the season.

He's currently training with League Two side Mansfield Town after leaving Oldham before the close of the transfer window in September to allow him to find a new club.

'It has been frustrating for me not being with a club as I just want to be playing football,' Gilbert told skysports.com.

'Every player wants to be playing football and I am no different.'

The former Leicester City man arrived at S6 under former boss Paul Sturrock and made 32 league starts in the blue and white stripes.
