Owls Duo Out To Prove A Point

Wednesday duo Richard Hinds and Frank Simek will both be frantically banging down the door of boss Brian Laws when they feature for the reserves tonight.

The defensive pair have both been mentioned as possibilities to come into the first team in place of under-fire duo Darren Purse and Lewis Buxton at Bristol City on Saturday.

And they'll be using tonight's reserve team clash against Walsall this afternoon as the perfect opportunity to prove to boss Laws that they're fit and ready for first team action.

Wednesdayites have been calling for American right-back Simek, and utility man Hinds, who've both been overlooked so far this temr, to be brought into the first two following below-par performances.

But there will be no place for Richard Wood in today's line-up.

Whether that means Wood still isn't fit enough to play, or whether Laws is saving the centre-back for Saturday's trip to Ashton Gate, remains to be seen.

Tommy Miller and Francis Jeffers are also included in the squad and will be looking to impress the gaffer.
