Johnson Pens New Owls Deal

Wednesday's wing wizard Jermaine Johnson has signed a new contract with the Owls that will keep him at Hillsborough until the end of the 2010-11 season.

Johnson was one of a number of Owls players who had their contract coming to an end, but the Jamaican has pledged his future to the club today.

Brian Laws told the official SWFC site: 'I am delighted that Jermaine Johnson has committed to a new contract at Sheffield Wednesday. JJ is one the most exciting players in the Championship on his day. Defenders in this league find him very difficult to deal with and we are always looking to utilise his energy and trickery.'

Johnson also told the official site: 'I have really enjoyed my time at Sheffield Wednesday so far. It is a great club and the supporters have really welcomed me so I am very pleased to extend my contract here.'

JJ has made over 100 appearances for the Owls since his arrival from Bradford City.

It comes on the back of what seems like a big week in agreeing, or failing to agree, new contract deals with key players at the club.
