Virus Hit Owls Return To Work

Wednesday have returned to training at their Middlewood Road base today after being told to stay away on Sunday and Monday due to a virus in the camp.

The training ground was out of bounds for club staff for two days following the 1-1 draw with Bristol City as the club attempted to contain the virus.

And Wednesday have also confirmed that it is just a virus, and not swine flu as many media outlets have been reporting since the weekend.

'It is just a viral infection,' a club spokesperson told the Star.

'The players stayed away from training on Sunday and Monday as a precaution.'

Darren Purse, Mark Beevers, Sean McAllister, Akpo Sodje, Tommy Miller, francis Jeffers and Michael Gray have allbeen infected over the last week.

The club have insisted all players infected take time to 'rest and recouperate' as Wednesday prepare for a big Championship clash at home against Q.P.R. this weekend.
