Rumour Links Wilcox With Grimsby

Rumours circulating this week are linking Wednesday's assistant manager Russ Wilcox with the vacant manager's hot seat at League Two Grimsby Town.

Wilcox is one of a number of names being linked with the position at Blundell Park after Mike Newell parted company with the troubled club.

And the rumour linking the Owls assistant with the position is just that at present - a rumour.

The Hemsworth born Wilcox spent much of his time in the part of the country, playing for Hull City and Scunthorpe United before taking up his current role of assistant manager during his time at the Iron.

Former Hull City man Dean Windass has also been linked with the post recently.
