Former Owl Has Debut To Forget

Former Wednesday defender Peter Gilbert had a debut to forget for Northampton Town as he was sent off in the Cobblers' 0-0 draw with Grimsby.

Gilbert, who left Hillsborough at the end of last season after failing to earn a new contract, put pen-to-paper on a season-long deal with Northampton just last week.

But the left-back was given his marching orders just 50 minutes into his debut for the League 2 club in their weekend clash with Grimsby Town.

Gilbert was just the third ever Northampton player to be given his marching orders on his debut for the club.
