Sodje Keen For Charlton Move

Sodje Keen For Charlton Move

Wednesday striker Akpo Sodje is keen to make his loan move to League 1 side Charlton Athletic a permanent one.

The injury-ravaged hitman secured a loan move to The Valley earlier this month and netted his first goal in the red and white at the weekend in their clash with MK Dons.

And the former Port Vale man has revealed that he'd be 'very, very happy' if a move to the London club turned permanent in the January transfer window.

'That is all down to both clubs and it's down to the manager but I'm enjoying the football and I'm enjoying playing again,' he said.

'If it happens I'll be very, very happy but if it doesn't happen then I'll just keep on playing for Sheffield Wednesday.'

Wednesday could well look to cash in on the striker with his contract due to expire at the end of the season.

Gotta agree Olly..... sounds like there may be several unhappy players at S6 who are looking to jump ship...

I would love to know what the hell is going on. I know that Stafford is supposed to be above reproach, but he has been in the chair fro almost ayear now and I see a lot of nice words but zero progress!

I also thought he was there to improve his sharpness, come back to S6 and score a hat full of goals!! If he is fit he would have been my first choice with Tudders!!

Sodje is a neighbour of mine. I spoke to him a couple of weeks ago and he is very happy at Wednesday, he was worried that he might not get a new contract because of his injury problems. You should also understand that he is a Charlton supporter having been brought up close to the ground, so Charlton would be his dream move. But hey, don't let facts or commonsense get in the way of anything, lets all just start scaremonging.

IF he does go then all I can say is what a way to repay the club for the amount of support it has lavished on him while he's been injured. Yet another player thats gone down in my estimations.
