Sodje Keen For Charlton Move

Wednesday striker Akpo Sodje is keen to make his loan move to League 1 side Charlton Athletic a permanent one.

The injury-ravaged hitman secured a loan move to The Valley earlier this month and netted his first goal in the red and white at the weekend in their clash with MK Dons.

And the former Port Vale man has revealed that he'd be 'very, very happy' if a move to the London club turned permanent in the January transfer window.

'That is all down to both clubs and it's down to the manager but I'm enjoying the football and I'm enjoying playing again,' he said.

'If it happens I'll be very, very happy but if it doesn't happen then I'll just keep on playing for Sheffield Wednesday.'

Wednesday could well look to cash in on the striker with his contract due to expire at the end of the season.

Aother one unhappy at the club by the sounds of it tut tut tut.

Gotta agree Olly..... sounds like there may be several unhappy players at S6 who are looking to jump ship...

I would love to know what the hell is going on. I know that Stafford is supposed to be above reproach, but he has been in the chair fro almost ayear now and I see a lot of nice words but zero progress!
dobby1
thought he was only goinig for match fitness? its not good when your players would rather play in a league below...
owlswfc
I also thought he was there to improve his sharpness, come back to S6 and score a hat full of goals!! If he is fit he would have been my first choice with Tudders!!

Sodje is a neighbour of mine. I spoke to him a couple of weeks ago and he is very happy at Wednesday, he was worried that he might not get a new contract because of his injury problems. You should also understand that he is a Charlton supporter having been brought up close to the ground, so Charlton would be his dream move. But hey, don't let facts or commonsense get in the way of anything, lets all just start scaremonging.

quite frankly, after witnessing recent performances I am scares $hitle$$

great post doitforlove, at last a little info. Think the "great to be playing" quote said it all myself.

IF he does go then all I can say is what a way to repay the club for the amount of support it has lavished on him while he's been injured. Yet another player thats gone down in my estimations.

i said it yesterday on another post i have been told that B L has lost the dressing room it's not a happy place. he lost it at grimsby just ask Ivano Bonetti?
HorburyOwl
ive heard this "he's lost the dressing room" bullsht so many times. what exactly have you heard? who has told you this info? was it marcus tudgay? was it lee strafford? was it russ wilcox perhaps, or is it just made up?

I can't believe the amount of drama queens that follow Wednesday. I have 2 Wednesday players as neighbours, one is Sodje, who isn't around at the moment, the other is JJ. Whenever I speak to JJ, he has nothing but respect for Laws, which comes across whenever I've asked about him. He says Laws can be hard to please, but he knows it is because BL is trying to make him a better player. Any talk of dressing room unhappiness is just people trying to cause trouble.

Erm I think people have a right to be worried about the club at the moment and whats happening with players, we can't all have players as neighbours.
owlswfc
I would like Sodje to stay and bang a hat full of goals in. Don't be daft tho Skeggy, he's out of contract in the summer and we aren't picking him so how can he repay anything? We haven't offered him a contract yet (and rightly so until he proves he's worth one) so come July he will be unemployed unless he sorts something out.

difl - I live next door to Paul Scholes who says he would love to finish his career off at Hillsborough.
