Owls Miss Out On Premier League Star

Wednesday boss Brian Laws has revealed that he's missed out on bolstering his squad with a Premier League striker.

Laws made a top flight goalscorer the top of his 'wanted' list before the close of the loan transfer window tomorrow.

And he was all set to get his man, revealing that the Owls would pay the full amount of his wages if need be and sacrifice another signing from a Championship club.

But any deal for the un-named player has now collapsed, leaving the Wednesday boss to turn his attentions elsewhere in a bid to strengthen his squad befor the busy Christmas schedule.

Leicester City striker DJ Campbell has been linked with a move to S6, but he could favour a move to Derby County instead.

Wednesday are reported to have made a last-gasp loan bid for the former Birmingham City striker, but Campbell is expected to make a switch to the Rams in the next 48 hours.

useless is not harsh enough

We have got no pulling power and neither have United. Its time for us to both to call it a day, merge with Sheffield FC and market ourselves as the worlds oldest club. Thats the only way Sheffield will see a top 5 prem club.

Hahahaha! go on son! give it hell!

Exactly Radon. Im serious when I say this, i'd perform better than any of our current strikers.
Danigol_10_SWFC
Why is everybody getting on B L back, it's hardly his fault we've no money for loan signings, if you want to get at someone, try having a go at the chairman, he's had 1 year at it and still nothing, he's the useless B------
ecco owl
I think that BL and the chairman must be related because they both seem to have the same useless gene. 3 months ago Stafford gave an investment deadline of the end of December because it was realistic and wouldn't give any false hope but he was confident of it all falling into place. Now, he's still confident but won't give a deadline and even says he doesn't care about deadlines....he's starting to sound like Geoff Sheard....maybe Stafford and BL have another long lost brother. I have been trying not to come on here and whinge but I really can't think of anything to be happy about at the moment.
baldowl
Well said Ecco and most of what you say baldowl. How can it be the manager's fault that we have no money, no investment and right now, no propects?? I am sick to the back teeth of false promises. We sold additional season tickets based on the high hopes that we could at last look forward ot a brighter future and where are we?
dobby1
when sturrock was in charge he had no money, he managed to get players like bougherra brunt whelan and maclean, laws has had more money and got grant, that is it, hes a joke
smiggyswfc
Well said smiggy. Laws put us in neutral and now we're in reverse.
baldowl
Dave Allen must be wetting himself. At least he called a spade, a spade. Shambolic cock up at best, lies & more lies. And being told to back the team by a headmaster like chairman, ive beeen going for years week in week out without being told to, and im almost sick of it. We might get a good attendance Saturday if they bring a few, but wait for the week after to see the real hard core support 16k tops.
duds
My issue is with both BL & LS. Brian Laws has taken the club as far as he can, most of his signings have been simply terrible and his team selections at times have been just as bad. He needs to play EE. As for LS, well I think the guy is full of *****.
Danigol_10_SWFC
hey we've made 6m this financial year don't tar us with your own massively skint brush!!
bladesforlife1889
yea youve made £6M to be spent on houses in malta, a team in china and probably a few orphans in kenya, none of it is going on your team so jog on u t1t
smiggyswfc
and thats only because you got the west ham pay-out
smiggyswfc
At least Warren Feeney might sign. Good god.
jamesc1905
WEST SHAM PAYMENT ISN'T INCLUDED IN THAT FIGURE READ THE SMALL PRINT SNOUT SNIFFLER - IF YOU CAN READ!! XXXXXXXX
bladesforlife1889
BFL You are still a tin pot little club who nobody outside Sheffield gives a to55 about and hasn't won anything since the 20's. on a post a few months ago you said you were a chartered engineer, but yesterday you were arguing about e&m and m&e. Do you ever make any sense?
Radon Barrier
i dont have the obsession like u with us, im not bothered enough about your 5h1te to read into your finances.
