Brunt Remembers 'Great Time' At Owls

Former Wednesday winger Chris Brunt will return to Hillsborough with his West Brom team with fond memories of his time as an Owl.

The Norhern Ireland international made his name with Wednesday after arriving at S6 from the youth set-up at Middlesbrough.

And he'll return to face his former club this weekend when table-topping West Brom make the trip to South Yorkshire - with Brunt an almost definite starter.

Many fans will have a bet on Brunty scoring on his return in typical fashion.

But Brunt, who was brought to the club by Chris Turner and enjoyed a promotion with Wednesday, has ruled out celebrating if he finds the back of the net.

'The time I had at Sheffield Wednesday was a great time. I've got a lot of respect for the club and the fans and the management staff , so I would have to think twice about celebrating,' he told the Express and Star.

Brunt will no doubt raise his game in front of his former fans, but insists it'll be a tough game for the Baggies.

He continued: 'At home they are always a decent side so it will be a tough game for us.'

The Northern Irish midfielder made 108 league starts in the blue and white of Wednesday, also notching 21 goals along the way during his three year stint at the club.

Top man Brunty glad he's doing well for himself. That's the difference between him & Wood ! Brunty took steps forward when he left the club, Wood went sideways at best. Hope he gets promoted this season but has a stinker on Saturday.

he's excelled and is now one of west broms best players, premiership through and through, i think he will get sold eventually to a top ten premiership team.
