D-Day For Owls' Loan Deals

D-Day For Owls' Loan Deals

Wednesday fans will today find out whether boss Brian Laws has bolstered his lowly squad with loan deals in time for the hectic Christmas schedule.

Today, at 5pm, is the deadline for securing loan deals until the transfer window re-opens for permanent and loan deals in January.

And Laws will be hard at work in his Middlewood Road training ground office trying to secure a loan striker and another player ahead of Saturday's home clash against league leaders West Brom.

Laws has already announced that he missed out on one Arsenal youngster after Arsene Wenger insisted he was keen to use his youngsters in the Carling Cup rather than send them out on loan to the Championship.

Stoke City's Tom Soares has also been linked with a loan move to S6, while Cardiff's Northern Ireland striker Warren Feeney has emerged the most likely to pen a deal at S6 today.

Keep your eyes on Vital Sheffield Wednesday for all the latest transfer activity on loan deadline day.

Why the hell is BL trying to get in a midfielder to 'play in the middle or out wide'? I think that midfield is the least of our problems as we have plenty of cover there. Get in a striker that is gonna find the net more than twice in 2 months. Shame to say it but maybe it's time for BL to move on??? Plot = lost

Im actually interested to see who its gonna be, if anyone. Not cos im excited cos I think its gonna be a good player but because im interested to see what BL manages to come up with. I bet its some washed up has been who he thinks can "do a good job for us". *********.

Im seriously sick of the ***** that comes through our club. If he doesnt bring anyone in or if they are no better than the current lot of players im 100% on the "time for BL to go" bandwagon.

look slike its feeney fotr the striker-in all honesty i cant see how hes going to better our squad-weve got a unfot striker that doesnt get in to the 1st team in akpo so y not just bring him back??? this is getting like a huge joke now!!!!! and if feeney is the best calibre player he can get, well it says it all!!!

All the "managers" are out again. I'm no big fan of Feeney & maybe we will end up with someone different but thats what you get when you have no cash. I'm interested, who would you bring in & how much do you think they would ask for in wages (assuming here that they come on free loan).

Wed1867. No cash we may have but does that mean we have to waste what little there is. How much have we thrown away on Purse and Jeffers? If Feeney will bring nothing to Wednesday that isn't already here (non scoring strikers, until we send them out on loan and they actually get to play) then what is the point of throwing good money away just to have a little movement in the transfer market (for a month). I'd rather BL sign no-one than waste the cash.
