Jeffers Rumours Resurface

It's deja vue all over again as the Mirror insists Notts County are to offer a short term deal to the listed Owls striker.

We reported pretty much the same story back in September: this time around, the January transfer window is looming and we can but hope that the nouveau riche Magpies have a genuine interest in the former Arsenal, Everton and Blackburn forward, despite recent doubts over their ownership structure and financing.

New manager Hans Backe (Sven-Goran Eriksson's former assistant at Manchester City) will certainly have targets in mind to aid County's push for promotion to League One, but is Jeffers one of them?

If the rumours about the dressing room have any truth in them, this giuy can hardly be helping!
dobby1
He'll leave in the summer anyway, for the moment he is a massive drain on our finances.
robc
at the moment most players are a drain on finances
bradford_owl
Get shut the money he is on will only help get some players in who might want to play football

Drop Varney and bring Jeffers in to partner Tudgay, EE down the left with JJ down the right, Soares and Potter in the middle. Alternatively bring Sodje back to partner Jeffers and put Tudgay out wide in place of JJ.

Typical scouser wants the money but not bothered about doing any work for it.

The only thing is, do we trust Brian to use the money wisely?
robc
I have seen Jeffers as a total waste of time ever since he joined Wednesday but I would have been more than happy for him to get his chance given the firepower we have at the moment. I think its a choice between hoping he actually starts scoring or saving on his wages. I would choose giving him the chance but I don't think Laws will get much out of him with this team playing as it is. He hasn't done it before. The problem is what kind of quality players will Laws think of bringing in next with the money? Jeffers goes? Jeffers stays? I'm not sure it makes any real difference anymore.

i agree with sussexowl apart from the potter bit shocking so far this season

I agree Potter hasn't been great, I like Mcallister and would like to see him get a few games if only to improve our goal threat from midfield!
