Ferguson Declares Owls Interest

Former Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson has declared his interest in talking with Owls chairman Lee Strafford about the vacant manager's position at Hillsborough.

Ferguson, son of Manchester United boss Alex, left his position at Posh boss earlier in the campaign.

But after spending some time away from the game, he's keen to return to management, and has told Sky Sports that he's interested in talking to Wednesday about the position.

'Since I left there has been some interest but I decided to have a bit of a break and spend some time with my wife,' he told Sky Sports.

'But I am having itchy feet now and I want to get back involved and I would be interested in talking to Sheffield Wednesday.'

Ferguson is thought to be one of a number of front-runners for the position, with former Owls defender Nigel Worthington also amongst the leading candidates for the job.

Best choice of those who would come in my opinion.

He "left" a club that is lower than us in the division!! why would he possibly do anything at ours? He's not experienced in this league so will just use the same tactics that he used a couple of months ago that didnt work!! We need someone experienced and who knows the league, IT IS THAT SIMPLE!! But we wont get that will we.....!!!
Owls That!
I for one would like to see him come to hillsborough. He brought peterborough up through the leagues and didn't really have a chance to prove himself in this league. Although I do think it would be somewhat a risk not having proved himself yet.

So what if he's not got enough experience in this league. What you have to remember is that at Posh, he had League 1 players who didn't have the experience either. Where as if he comes to Hillsborough, which I for one hopes he does, he will have proven Championship players to work with, and there's always a chance that he might ask Dad to borrow a couple of players as well. At the end of the day, if the players aren't doing the job on the pitch, then you will all jump on the 'sack him' bandwagon, but no-one ever says anything about sacking the players, they are the ones that need to start performing. A few more games like the one against Newcastle then we will be pretty safe, I'm sure of it.

Bolton have sacked Gary Megson and he'll do for me !

Lets hurry and get Ferguson in. Gary Megson is a useless manager, have you heard what the bolton fans have been saying? I'd hate to have him come here.
