Megson Gets The Boot At Bolton

Former Wednesday player Gary Megson has been sacked as manager of Bolton Wanderers - throwing him straight into line for the vacant manager's role at Hillsborough.

Megson got his marching orders at the Reebok Stadium this morning, just a day after his side could only manage a 2-2 home draw against fellow strugglers Hull City.

And he leaves the Lancashire club in a relegation battle at the foot of the Premier League.

His departure could well catch the eye of Owls chairman Lee Strafford, who is on the search for a new permanent manager at Hillsborough following the departure of Brian Laws earlier this month.

Megson has a long history with the Owls, having made 233 appearances in the famous blue and white stripes in two spells at the club, spanning seven years.

His father, Don, also enjoyed a successful spell at Hillsborough.

Megson started his managerial career at Norwich City, but made his name at West Brom, where he guided the Baggies to the Premier League.

Spells at Nottingham Forest and Leicester City followed before Megson was given another chance in the top flight with Bolton.

Why do people want Megson? Do you like watching hoofball? You'd be better off at Bramall Lane then! Megson did well at West Brom with a strong squad & money, but look what he did at Forest when they we're in same situation as us, he took over in January & got them relegated then got sacked when they were struggling in League 1.
