Young Owls To Fly In FA Cup

Wednesday caretaker boss Sean McAuley is set to give two of the club's hot prospects FA Cup experience today, with Liam Palmer and Nathan Modest both set to be part of the squad.

The Owls already have their wafer-thin squad stretched to the limit with Luke Varney returning from his loan spell to parent club Derby County.

And McAuley, who knows the club's young players better than anyone, has acted by bringing Palmer and Modest into the squad for today's clash against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup third round.

It's thought the duo will start on the substitutes bench as McAuley looks to field a starting eleven capable of progressing to the fourth round of the famous competition for the first time in years.

But they could both feature in the match if required, and could well be a part of McAuley's plans in future games should they impress.
