Owls Set For Sodje Decision

Wednesday will have to decide whether to allow striker Akpo Sodje to remain at Charlton Athletic beyond his loan stint, which ends this weekend.

Sodje has been at the League 1 club for two months after the Owls allowed the former Port Vale hitman to extend his initial one month stint at The Valley.

But his loan extension comes to an end following Charlton's league clash against Hartlepool United this weekend, and a decision has to be made over his future.

Sodje has already highlighted his desire to stay at the London club, and Wednesday could well allow Charlton to make the deal permanent, with Sodje seemingly surplus to requirements at Hillsborough.

But caretaker boss Sean McAuley, or a new manager at S6, could well have other ideas which Wednesday struggling to get out of the Championship relegation spots.

Sodje has made just two starts during his time at The Valley, with six substitute appearances, netting two goals.

Well thats not goin to help us out of the relegation zone is it

Surplus to requirements!? We are toothless up front at the moment. Get him back here and in the starting line up, he's still under contract and we are desperate for some fire power.

still cant understand the Sodje scenario - seems only 5 minutes ago he was our most dangerous striker, now we dont want him at all? seems to me like something's happened that we dont know about.

I think hes to injury prone and on half decent money. Though agree prob could do with him

Sodje hasnt answered to our prayers as of yet but could do with another stint in the first team. People say that sodje is on a decent wage and loaning him out could balance the books but at the end of the day DARREN PURSE, is on around 10,000 a week and were paying him it. Wood was far better and we sold him for a measley amount. Purse needs to go and sodje needs 1last chance!! no worse than varney, jeffers, clarke OR tudgay

so u think 2 goals in league 1 from 2 starts n 6 as sub is the answer i dont think so,he will come bak to us n get injured AGAIN.

we've scored 2 goals in the last 8 matches so the players who played in those games aren't doing it. Get him back, get him in the team and get Jeffers along side him. Then if playing football doesn't work and we resort to humping it long (which I don't like but we do it all the same) at least we have someone to aim at

Jeffers!? No no never. If Purse really is on 10k p/w how come we increased the wage bill by 1m per year and found space for gray potter and miller as well? None of them are cheap, not sure how true that is... I think the reason Akpo is being farmed out is that we've given up on ever getting him consistently fit and want some kind of cash. Harsh given how well he played for us, but football is a business and it does make sense. Head says let him go, heart says keep him!

I thought the players performances ad dropped cos they no longer wanted to play for Mr Laws, but the same bunch are still performing the same for Mr McAuley which shows they dont want to be @ our club and dont deserve the right to wear the famous blue n white shirts.Im dissappointed as r we all about our strike force but im sori Akpo Sodje isnt the answer a fit Sodje yes but like i sed earlier if he did come bak ow long b4 hes out injured agen.Think be gr8 if wen players are injured long term they shudnt get paid full wages onli half and wud be nice to see just ow quick a recovery these players made also with under performing players payment held bak make them work for their money.
