It seems like an age since Brian Laws cleared his desk at Middlewood Road and left Sean McAuley in temporary charge of a relegation battle at S6.
In fact it's only a month, but when you're in the position we're in at the foot of the table, a month can be a long, long time.
Which begs the question, is Lee Strafford doing the right thing in biding his time over appointing the next permanent manager of Wednesday?
Scores of names have been linked with the position, some being ridiculous, some being unispiring, some being realistic, and some moving on to other clubs.
But we seem no nearer to having a new permanent manager on board - former PNE boss Alan Irvine is the closest we seem to be to a real rumour at the moment, and even that's just 'paper talk'.
Owls chairman Lee Strafford has already hinted that he'll hold fire over the next, and crucial, appointment until the club is closer to securing, or not, investment.
The strategy has already seen former Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson choose a move to Preston ahead of Wednesday, despite having a meeting about the vacant role at S6.
North End acted in a double-quick time to appoint Ferguson as Irvine's replacement, and they're not exactly a team struggling at the wrong end of the Championship.
Strafford will have to hope that other candidates for the Owls job aren't so impatient.
The possible postponement of Saturday's clash with Peterborough, then, a mammoth game for both clubs, could well be a blessing inn disguise for Wednesday, and maybe a stroke of luck for the chairman.
Of course, the clash could still be on weather permitting - the club are set to give an update on the situation today.
But I'd certainly prefer to have a permanent manager in place for such a pivotal game in the Owls' season.
I'd prefer Strafford to take his time in making the right appointment for the job, certainly more than making a rushed decision over the Christmas period, one which could have turned out to be the wrong one.
There certainly seems to be no shortage of candidates for the role, some have come out publically to delcare their interest, so Strafford's decision to hang fire could well prove a masterstroke.
And it could well define his so-far short time as Wednesday chairman so far, or indeed throughout his time at the club in the past, and in the future.
The forthcoming appointment could well mean Owls fans are either fully behind Strafford's reign at S6, or it could mean Wednesdayites turn against him in their droves.
Hopefully it won't be the latter.
Strafford has always asked us to trust him, hey, he's a Wednesdayite afterall, and we'll have to do just that over what's set to be a crucial week or two at Hillsborough.
Hopefully, Lee will be a wise old Owl come the end of the current changes at the club.
