Owls Target Celtic Stopper

Owls boss Paul Sturrock is tracking young Celtic stopper David Marshall if he fails in a bid to land Liverpool 'keeper Scott Carson according to reports.

Carson is Sturrock's number one target for the summer but is likely to face strong competition for the services of the former Leeds United man on a season-long loan.

The Scot has added young Celtic goalkeeper David Marshall to his wanted list as back-up, after the Scottish international dropped behind Artur Boruc.

SPL side Dundee United will battle it out with the Owls for the signature of the 21-year-old - who has only made five appearances this season for the SPL champions.

Wednesday were dealt a blow in April by learning that number one David Lucas will be sidelines until christmas. The former Preston North End stopper is currently considering a reduced-terms deal until Christmas with his current deal set to expire this summer.

I can remember he had a stormer against Barca a few years back, thrown in at the last minute wasn't he? Would be very good for us I think but wqould prefer Carson anytime!

if we can pick him up on the cheap on a decent length contract, it might make more sense to sign him instead of carson now as there might not be such a good keeper this time next year
