Owls Linked With Rangers' Broadfoot

Owls Linked With Rangers' Broadfoot

Wednesday boss Alan Irvine has today been linked with an ambitious January swoop for Glasgow Rangers defender Kirk Broadfoot.

The Ibrox defender is out-of-contract in the summer and he must decide whether to extend his stay at the SPL club or move to the Championship, with Wednesday reported to be interested in his services.

The 25-year-old former St Mirren man is currently in negotiations about a new deal with Rangers, but could well look for a move to England with the Owls.

The right-back is reported to have been offered improved terms on his deal with the Scottish giants.

And that could well count Wednesday out of the equation, with Irvine already revealing that he has to let players go at Hillsborough before fresh faces could come in.

good player but wages out of our league we would have to let two players go and that wont happen our squad is thin as it is that said rangers have their own money problems we might have a slim chance

Seems to be a regular at Rangers so why would he bother coming here?

Rangers are struggling financially at the moment so they'll be looking to make cut backs with their wages. This may make him look elsewhere (i.e. to us).

Some Rangers fans also think he's a comical defender so no thanks

Since when did looks determine how good a player is? Not seen much of him, so not sure how good he his. Maybe we're being linked with him because his place of birth is Irvine! LOL lazy journalism again. The Scottish market might be worth exploring especially if we can unearth a gem like Cardiff did with Ross McCormack for cheap. Btw his comicalness and his looks might be the result of a exploding egg! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/glasgow_and_west/8051673.stm
