Owls Game To Be Beamed Accross USA

The Owls involvement in the USL First Division All Star game in North Carolina this summer is set to be screen accross the USA on the Fox Soccer Channel.

The publicity will be a major boost to the Owls - who are already well known to 'soccer' fans in the US because of the link with former US National star John Harkes.

Vital Sheffield Wednesday revealed Wednesday would be travelling to Cary, in North Carolina for the game this summer against a USL first division all star team. Paul Sturrock is also likely to arrange a number of other friendly fixtures in the US.

American viewers will also be interested in young Owls' defender Frankie Simek, should he be fit and available following an operation. Simek failed to make the US National squad for this summers World Cup in Germany but is a hot prospect for the future after impressing in just his first season at Hillsborough.

The game takes place on the 19th July at SAS Soccer Park, in Cary. Kick-off has been moved from 7.30pm to 8.00pm because of the live TV coverage. Tickets start at just $10 for fans wanting to travel over, and can be purchased by cliking on the link below.
