Owls Extend Soares Loan Deal

Stoke City midfielder Tom Soares has extended his loan spell at Wednesday until the end of the season after the two clubs reached an agreement today.

Soares will be available for Wednesday night's vital visit to Scunthorpe United in the Championship and for the rest of the current campaign.

His second month on loan at Hillsborough came to an end following Wednesday's 2-1 success against Peterborough United at the weekend.

But Stoke boss Tony Pulis has allowed the former Crystal Palace man to remain an Owl for the rest of the campaign.

The midfielder, returning from injury when he first signed for the Owls, has improved with every game he's played under boss Alan Irvine.

The highlight of his stay so far came in Wednesday's 2-1 win at Blackpool last week, where he scored the opening goal at Bloomfield Road.

Welcome back, Tom!
