Owls' Bhasera Deal Now Unlikely

Wednesday look to have run out of time in their reported chase to sign Kaizer Chiefs defender Onismor Bhasera in the January transfer window.

The Zimbabwe left-back was linked with a late move to the Owls yesterday after reports he'd been training with the club in the hope of penning a deal at Hillsborough.

He'd already seen possible moves to Portsmouth and Queens Park Rangers fall through.

And it looks like any move to S6 could be going the same way, with the deadline for the transfer window ending at 5pm yesterday.

The Owls have yet to confirm or deny the rumours linking them with Bhasera.

It could mean that boss Alan Irvine is still interested in getting his man, or that a work permit is in the process of being applied for.

But, for the time being at least, it looks like a move for the defender is on hold as Wednesday look to make do with what they have until the end of the current campaign.

Nick - we would have signed him but he failed the medical due to a knee injury according to reports on the internet.
