Buxton Sidelined For Four Weeks

Wednesday have been dealt a blow with the news that defender Lewis Buxton will be sidelined for around four weeks through injury.

The former Stoke City man was taken off in the Owls' 2-1 victory over Plymouth Argyle at the weekend to be replaced with Frank Simek.

And Owls boss Alan Irvine has revealed that Buxton will be out of action for around a month, missing some key fixtures as Wednesday battle against relegation from the Championship.

American defender Simek is all set for a spell in the team after spending much time on the bench throughout this season so far.

The former Arsenal Academy product is a fans' favourite at Hillsborough but has suffered through numerous injuries recently.

And Wednesdayites will be hoping Simek comes through the four-week spell in tact, to regain the form that saw him on the brink of the USA national squad.

I like Frankie alot, I am not sure hes the same player as he was but it be good to see him back. Buxton has done a good job. I know he got alot of stick and alot of that was under the tactics of Laws. Hes not a bad defender to be fair..Frankie is just that bit better going forward too in my opinion.

I have to say I think Buxton's done a solid enough job overall but it's going to be great to see Frankie back in the blue and white stripes and with a few games under his belt let's hope we see the Frankie we know and love bombing up and down the wing. USA USA USA!
