Owls Boss Nominated For Gong

Wednesday boss Alan Irvine has been nominated for the Championship Manager of the Month award for January.

Vital Wednesday always expected the Scot to get the nod for a nomination at least following his exploits in leading the Owls to four wins from five matches and out of the relegation spots.

And it's now been confirmed.

Irvine will be up against Nottingham Forest's Billy Davies, Scunthorpe United's Nigel Adkins and Dave Jones of Cardiff City.

Whether Irvine wants to win the gong, and risk the 'curse' of the Manager of the Month award going into this Saturday's clash at Forest, is another thing.

Maybe he's secretly willing Mr Davies to get the honour for this month at least?

In all seriousness, good luck Alan, it'll be much deserved if you win it.

I'd like to see some analysis done on this 'curse'... At VitalWatford Towers, we wonder if it is as a bogeyman as we all consider it to be!
