Former Owl Linked With Barcelona

Former Owl Linked With Barcelona

It's not often Sheffield Wednesday and Barcelona are mentioned in the same sentence, but recent rumours have linked an Owls old-boy with a move to the Nou Camp.

Former defender Madjid Bougherra, now plying his trade at Scottish Premier League side Glasgow Rangers, has been linked with an unlikely move to Spanish giants Barca.

It comes on the back of some impressive performances at Ibrox for the Gers, and a steady movement up the football pyramid in recent years.

Bougherra has revealed he's flattered with the rumours, and no doubt he'd take them up on any offer should one arise.

But rumours seem to be all they are, and it's still up in the air whether a former Owl will be pulling on the famous Barca shirt.

The Algerian international arrived at Wednesday following an impressive loan stint with Crewe Alexandra, and secured a brief move to the Premier League with Charlton.

His time at Rangers has seen his popularity rise, with Spurs amongst the clubs linked with the defender.
