Unitedite Sharp Eager For Flak

Doncaster Rovers' on-loan striker Billy Sharp admits he's looking forward to any flak he receives from Wednesdayites in tomorrow's Hillsborough derby clash.

The Unitedite, who's on loan at the Keepmoat Stadium, can't wait to start his first ever game at Hillsborough in tomorrow night's Championship clash at S6.

He received plenty of flak from the Wednesday fans in the fixture at the Keepmoat earlier in the season, a fixture which saw Sharp bag the winner in a 1-0 success for Rovers.

And he's hoping for more of the same from the 20,000-plus Owls fans at Hillsborough tomorrow night.

'I scored the goal which saw us beat them 1-0 at home and I'd settle for that again tomorrow, and I'm sure the lads would be happy with that as well,' Sharp told the Sheffield Star.

'I've never started a game at Hillsborough so I'm looking foward to it.

'I'm sure that I will get some stick from the Wednesday fans but that will help me so I hope that they do.'

Sharp has been in hot form with Rovers of late and scored the winner in their victory over high-flying Nottingham Forest at the weekend.

Owls boss Alan Irvine will no doubt have highlighted the former Scunthorpe frontman as one to watch from Wednesday's point of view.

And he'll be happy with keeping Rovers out and securing a second clean sheet during his time as Owls boss - as well as another crucial victory to lift Wednesday further away from relegation trouble.

Bring it on, Billy Blunt...let's not disappoint him.

dont worry billy you will get some stick!! need to win this match, can't have them doing the double over us!

the only stick he deserves is for sacrificing his career just to sign for blades when Laws came in for him the other year. to be told the team would play to your strengths then choose to go back to a club who didn't want him in the first place defies belief. But then your average blade isn't the smartest chap!
