Irvine Delighted With Nolan Capture

Wednesday boss Alan Irvine is 'delighted' at bringing Preston North End defender Eddie Nolan to Hillsborough until the end of the season.

Irvine signed the Republic of Ireland international for Preston during his time at Deepdale so knows all about the qualities of the 21-year-old.

And he insists he'll be a valuable capture for what's going to be a tough battle against relegation from the Championship.

He said: "We have a tough battle ahead of us in order to stay in the Championship this year and Eddie Nolan is a very good defender who will bring a lot of quality and cover to our defensive unit. Every game coming up is a massive game and having the opportunity to bring in a player of Eddie`s quality and versatility at this time is something that I feel can help us in the remaining matches.

"It is vital that we are strong defensively and Eddie will certainly add strength to that department between now and the end of the season so I am delighted to have secured his services.'

Nolan has been heavily involved with North End's first team this season, with his last outing coming in their 2-0 defeat at Swansea City on Saturday, February 6.
