Simek Receives USA Call-Up

Wednesday defender Frank Simek has been called up to the USA international squad for their friendly fixture against Holland next week.

Simek will be involved in the squad when the USA take on Holland at Ajax's Amsterdam Arena on Wednesday, March 10.

And the former Arsenal product will be keen to impress the national side's coaching staff as he has one eye on being included in the USA's squad for the forthcoming World Cup finals in South Africa.

He's had five caps for his country so far in his career but injuries over the last few seasons have seen his chances limited.

But breaking back into the Owls' first team this season has allowed him to catch the eye of the US coaching staff, who've called him up for the friendly fixture in Holland.
