Graham Aims To Win Owls Fans Over

Owls striker David Graham has revealed he wants to stay at Hillsborough and win over the Owls fans after completing a successful spell with League One side Huddersfield Town.

The former Wigan Athletic hitman's future was in doubt after impressing while on loan at the Galpharm Stadium. It was thought Graham may opt for a move to West Yorkshire should the Terriers achieve promotion to the Championship.

But Peter Jackson's men missed out of the automatic promotion spot and were knocked out of the play-offs by Yorkshire Rivals Barnsley on Monday night.

Graham told the official SWFC site: 'I want to play at Wednesday; I want to play in the Championship. That's my intention. I've got two years on my contract. I know last season didn't go as planned and did not go too well for me. I did not win the fans over. It's up to me to do that.'

Graham had a less-than impressive start in an Owls shirt after making the move to S6 in August from Premiership side Wigan Athletic, netting just three times in 24 appearances.

But his move to Huddersfield bore fruit in the goals department as he netted nine times in 17 appearances.

He continued: 'I think I did really well for Huddersfield and won over their fans. I think most of them wanted me to stay. I'm looking to next season and I want to do well.'

The 27-year-old will hold talks with Owls boss Paul Sturrock over the next few days about his future at the club.

not good enough, and I'm sure huddersfield would be more than happy to take him
wednesday4europe
he looked good when Ive seen him with Huddersfield but then again it is a lower league. I suppose it all depends on how much we'd get for him. I'd like to see him have another chance though.
welshyowl
I think we would be foolish to let him go bearing in mind that we have a completely different strike force now. He was useless before but he has two years left on contract so may as well just see if he can click with our other guys (maybe try him a few times in pre season).
earthcraike
no not good enough he never will be at championship level. he should of stayed with torquay
green giant 12
after a loan spell he might be good with a few games under his belt.
jono_forest
we have to give him a chance, look at burton and tudgay, theres starts were not great but given a bit of support.........they kept us up. Give him until january next season.
Goalsmaclean
From the limited amount I saw before I left he wasn't good enough, certainly if we're looking to push on up the division.
Auckland Owl
yeah, thats the think, he is no where near good enough for a push to the play offs so if sturruck is going for the plays offs, he has to look beyond david graham
