Wednesday Ladies Secure Double Swoop

Sheffield Wednesday Ladies have bolstered their squad with the addition of two new players this week.

Katie Nutter has put pen to paper from Leeds Carnegie Ladies, while Kerry Smith has arrived at the club from OOH Lincoln.

Nutter, 19, joined the Owls last week and made her debut in the 2-1 victory over Preston North End as a second half substitute.

The central midfield star will be hoping to make an immediate impact as Wednesday continue their current campaign with three victories in all competitions since the turn of the year.

Joining Katie is left winger Kerry Smith, who signed just after Christmas from OOH Lincoln.

Smith has played at this level for over three years is a very accomplished player.

She has worked hard over the last few years after a career threatening injury to become an even stronger player.

Wednesday also welcomed back Leanne De Silva from a long term injury picked up from a tackle at OOH Lincoln.

Along with the recalling of Laura Windle and Helen Corry from 'loan' spells at Sheffield FC and Sheffield United respectively, the Owls are virtually back to full strength with no long term absentees.
