Irvine Praises 'Terrific' Owls
Wednesday boss Alan Irvine was full of praise for his battling Owls side, despite falling to a 1-0 defeat at high-flying West Brom last night.
Robet Koren's superb late strike was enough to give the Baggies victory at the Hawthorns in a game that the Owls left feeling they merited more from the game.
And although Wednesday took no points from the game, Irvine could take plenty of other positives from their performance against one of the Championship's big-hitters.
'I can't criticise the players,' he told BBC Sport.
'They were terrific the way they went about things and if we go about our jobs like that every game between now and the end of the season we will be fine.'
Both sides had good chances to win the game and Baggies boss Roberto Di Matteo felt it needed something a bit special to decide the match, saying: 'Koren scored a great goal and it probably needed a goal like that to win the game.'
Irvine will be hoping his troops show more of the same when they face another tough trip on the road at the weekend, this time to Swansea City.
