'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Npower New Football League Sponsor

Energy firm Npower has been named the Football League's new official sponsor, signing a three-year deal.

The company will take over from current sponsor Coca-Cola at the end of the current season.

It will see the league's divisions renamed the Npower Championship, Npower League 1 and Npower League 2 from the start of the 2010-11 season.

Reports are saying the Football League turned down a more lucrative offer from a gambling firm because it believed it wasn't a suitable match.

Here's hoping Wednesday are in the Npower Championship next season.
