Key Night Of Action For Owls

Wednesday may have to wait until tomorrow to face Watford but tonight's Championship action could still prove vital for Alan Irvine and his men.

The majority of the midweek Championship matches take place tonight, with a number of Wednesday's relegation rivals in action.

Indeed, Wednesday could well find themselves back in the bottom three tonight if Crystal Palace pick up victory over promotion-chasing Nottingham Forest.

Billy Davies' men will be the favourites, especially on home soil, and Wednesdayites will find themselves cheering on the Forest for once, tonight.

Rock-bottom Peterborough United make the trip to Scunthorpe United in what's the biggest game at the bottom of the division.

The Iron sit just a point above the Owls going into tonight's matches so a draw could well prove to be the best result, for our interests at least.

Plymouth Arglye are on the road with a trip to Ipswich Town.

Roy Keane's men aren't totally out of relegation trouble just yet but three points would go a long way to sealing their Championship fate tonight, and pile further woe on the Pilgrims.

Elsewhere, Derby County travel to QPR - two teams who still need victories to secure their status in the Championship, while Bristol City host Barnsley.

Wednesday have to wait until tomorrow to try and bag three crucial points but Owls boss Irvine, and Wednesdayites, will be keeping checkl of tonight's scores.
