Evans In As Owls Ladies Head To Luton

Sheffield Wednesday Ladies head to Luton Town this weekend with Scott Evans appointed as the team's new assistant manager.

Evans will assist boss Liam Kelly and he'll be hoping to get off to a winning start when Wednesday travel to Luton in the Northern Premier League.

He met the players last week and can't wait to get started.

'I'm delighted to be joining up with manager Liam Kelly and staff at Sheffield Wednesday,' said Evans.

'Having known Liam for a number of years I was eager to get involved as his assistant and I've already been impressed with the quality in the squad.

'We are already planning for the future here, the set-up and foundations are being put in place to build a professional environment to develop our players and take this club onto the next level. The journey has begun and am looking forward to the challenges ahead!'

Wednesday will welcome back Leanne De Silva and Rachel Skeemer for the visit to Luton and the Owls will be keen to kick-on from last weekend's positive 2-2 draw against their Aston Villa counterparts.

Boss Kelly said: 'Luton is a massive match, and it'll be hard, they`re a good physical team, like to get in your faces, and our players need to prepare for that.

'But we're in good form making massive strides against all odds and if we can keep this momentum and team spirit going it could be an interesting ending, but whatever the case we're going to enjoy the next five weeks.'
