Owls Prepare For Two Vital Matches

The Easter weekend could prove crucial in Wednesday's survival in the Championship, and boss Alan Irvine knows that all too well.

Four games in the space of two days gives the Owls the chance to pick up points in quick succession and potentially move further away from the dreaded drop-zone.

A trip to Loftus Road to face QPR, and former Blades boss Neil Warnock is up first for Wednesday before Bristol City visit Hillsborough on Easter Monday (both kick-off at 3pm).

And although the two games won't make-or-break Wednesday's survival bid, they'll have a huge impact.

'It is a massive weekend, no question about it,' Irvine told the Yorkshire Post.

'There is a lot of pressure on us - as there is on many teams - and I have felt there has been pressure in every game. Only a handful of clubs are now thinking they are not going up or down and we don't fall into that category.

'We are not going to be safe or relegated after these next two games but they will certainly have a bearing,' he added.

In other crucial matches at the bottom, Watford travel to PNE today while Crystal Palace make the trip to Middlesbrough and Plymouth Argyle are away at Doncaster Rovers.

But Irvine will be concentrating fully on his own men as they look to continue their five-game unbeaten run down in London this afternoon.
